TIme-Lapse Photography

Project #3: Create a timelapse video using Adobe Premiere.

I took 193 photos from the same position of people passing by in the University Center around 3:50 pm on a Tuesday. These photos are taken at a interval of approximately 10 to 30 seconds. I intended to capture the fast pace and busyness of people walking by so I changed the speed into 64%, making the photos switch in a short amount of time. Therefore, a 30 minute time period, which is the amount of time  I spent taking the photos, is compressed into a 10-second video to depict the busyness that can't be captured by a photo.

iStone

Project #2: Juxtapose long time and short time.

I want to juxtapose the iPhone (short time) with stones (long time) because stones are like the first tools that human used but iPhones are what people use nowadays. We used to depend on nature but now we depend on technology. This "iStone" comments on the advance of technology overtime.

These stones are all different and glued together while being unattached to the iPhone case.
Some improvements that I would make is to either paint the inside of the case silver as well or not paint the case at all.

Time Map

Project #1: Create an object or installation that represents a time map.

This is the time map that I created. It consists 18 images of the steps to fold a origami crane and the images are in a linear order, conveying the idea of a process of time. By looking from the front of the time map, the object seems to compress all the steps into one image but if you look above or to the side of the object you will see all the steps.
All of the images are connect by individual pieces of plexi glass and wire.
If I were to make this again, I would consider printing the last image (which is the completed crane) on acetate and leave the last image as an empty grey background so the images will be more consistent. I would also try to aline the pleix glass in a perfect straight line although it is very hard since there are 17 pieces of plexi glass and the acetate needs to fit in between the plexi glass.
